உலகத் தமிழ்ச் செம்மொழி மாநாட்டின் ஆரம்ப விழாவில் ஆங்கில மொழியே ஆதிக்கம் செலுத்தியதால், மாநாட்டுக்கு வந்த தமிழ் மக்களிடையே மனச்சஞ்சலம் ஏற்பட்டுள்ளதாக தெரிவிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.
செம்மொழி மாநாட்டின் ஆரம்ப விழாவில் சிறப்பு விருந்தினர்களாக பங்கேற்ற அதிபர் பிரதிபா பட்டீல் மற்றும் கவர்னர் சுர்ஜித் சிங் பர்னாலா, பின்லாந்து நாட்டில் இருந்து பங்கேற்ற அஸ்கோ பார்போலா ஆகியோருக்கு தமிழ் தெரியாததால் ஆங்கிலத்தில் உரை நிகழ்த்தினர்.
இவர்கள் அனைவரும் “வணக்கம்’ என்ற ஒரு வார்த்தையை மட்டும் தமிழில் சொல்லத் தவறவில்லை. துணை முதல்வர் ஸ்டாலின் மட்டுமே ஆங்கில கலப்பில்லாமல் பேசினார்.
முதல்வர் கருணாநிதி உட்பட மீதமுள்ள அனைவரின் உரையிலும் ஆங்கிலம் இடம் பெற்றிருந்தது, தமிழ் ஆர்வலர்கள், கட்சித் தொண்டர்களிடம் அதிருப்தியை ஏற்படுத்தியது.
ஆங்கிலத்தில் பேசியவர்களின் உரையை தமிழில் மொழி பெயர்க்கக் கூட எந்தவித ஏற்பாடுகளும் செய்யப்படாததால், மாநாட்டின் உரையைக் கேட்க வந்திருந்த பாமர மக்கள் மேடையில் என்ன நடக்கிறது என்பது தெரியாமல் விழித்தனர். அவ்வப்போது கூச்சல் எழுப்பி அதிருப்தியை தெரிவித்தனர்.
ஐக்கிய நாடுகள் சபை, நாடாளுமன்றம் என தான் பங்கேற்கும் நிகழ்ச்சிகளில் திருக்குறள் வரிகளை சொல்வதோடு, அதை ஆங்கிலத்தில் மொழி பெயர்த்து விளக்கி தமிழுக்கு பெருமை தேடி தரும் முன்னாள் அதிபர் அப்துல் கலாம் செம்மொழி மாநாட்டின் எந்த நிகழ்விலும் இடம் பெறவில்லை.

மாநாட்டு மேடையில் ஆங்கிலத்தின் ஆதிக்கத்தைக் கண்டு அதிருப்தி அடைந்த பொதுமக்களுக்கு, அப்துல் கலாம் பற்றிய நினைவு வருவதை தவிர்க்க முடியவில்லை. அனைவரும் இது பற்றி சிந்தித்தபடி மாநாட்டு நிகழ்ச்சிகளில் மூழ்கியிருக்கும் போது, அதே கருத்தை மையமாக வைத்து பரப்பப்பட்ட ஒரு குறுந்தகவல் (S.M.S), கூட்டத்தினர் மத்தியில் பரபரப்பை ஏற்படுத்தியது.
அந்த குறுந்தகவலில், “தமிழ்ச் செம்மொழி மாநாட்டின் சிறப்பு விருந்தினர்கள் தமிழ் தெரியாத வடமாநிலத்தவர், ஆனால் நன்கு தமிழ் தெரிந்த நம் முன்னாள் ஜனாதிபதி அப்துல் கலாமின் பெயர் சிறப்பு விருந்தினர்கள் பெயர் பட்டியலில் இல்லை. தமிழர்களான நாம் ஒவ்வொருவரும் இதை நினைத்துப் பார்க்க வேண்டும்” என கூறப்பட்டிருந்தது.
அந்தோ பரிதாபம்! எந்தா நம்ம மொழி? கலைஞர் பெயருக்கும் புகழுக்கும் ஆசைப்பட்டுப் பிறமொழி பிரமுகர்களை, பிரபலங்களை அழைத்திருப்பது போலத் தோன்றுகிறது! அவர்கள் புகழாரம் அவரை உச்சி குளிரச் செய்திருக்கும் என்பதில் ஐயமில்லை!
இப்போதெல்லாம் இந்த மாநாடுகள் யாவும் பேச்சளவோடு சரி; உறுப்படியான காரியம் ஒன்றும் மாநாட்டுக்குப் பிறகு இருக்காது! வீண், வெட்டிச் செலவுதான் மிச்சம்!

if you competent in malay language, than you will get a “gubmint” job.

Since you have attend please let us know much about this.As I understant that there are classical languages of 1000,2000,3000 years.It seems sanskrit has been recognised as a classical language of 3000 years and it has been already recognised long ago by the Indian government .
Eventhough Thamizh has a history 3500 years (Tholgapiers period) Why did Thamizh has been regonised as only 1000 years.It seems because of this Thamizh language would be unable to get the privileges in the universities around world.Even Mr. Manavai mustapha from UNESCO is unsatisfied about this.This is my humble request, Please?

Sanskrit language (संस्कृत भाषा saṃskṛta bhāṣā), for short Sanskrit (संस्कृतम् saṃskṛtam), is a historical Indo-Aryan language, a classical language of the Indian subcontinent and the primary liturgical language of Hinduism and Buddhism. Today, it is listed as one of the 22 scheduled languages of India and is an official language of the state of Uttarakhand.
Classical Sanskrit is the standard register as laid out in the grammar of Pāṇini, around the 4th century BCE. Its position in the cultures of South and Southeast Asia is akin to that of Latin and Greek in Europe and it has significantly influenced most modern languages of the Indian subcontinent, particularly in India and Nepal.
The pre-Classical form of Sanskrit is known as Vedic Sanskrit, with the language of the Rigveda being the oldest and most archaic stage preserved, its oldest core dating back to as early as 1500 BCE. This qualifies Rigvedic Sanskrit as one of the oldest attestations of any Indo-Iranian language, and one of the earliest attested members of the Indo-European language family, the family which includes English and most European languages.
The corpus of Sanskrit literature encompasses a rich tradition of poetry and drama as well as scientific, technical, philosophical and Hindu religious texts. Sanskrit continues to be widely used as a ceremonial language in Hindu religious rituals in the forms of hymns and mantras. Spoken Sanskrit is still in use in a few traditional institutions in India, and there are many attempts at revival.
The study of Sanskrit in the Western world began in the 17th century. Some of Bhartṛhari’s poems were translated into Portuguese in 1651.In 1779 a legal code known as vivādārṇavasetu was translated by Nathaniel Brassey Halhed from a Persian translation, and published as A Code of Gentoo Laws. In 1785 Charles Wilkins published an English translation of the Bhagavad Gita, which was the first time a Sanskrit book had been translated directly into a European language.
In 1786 Sir William Jones, who had founded The Asiatic Society two years earlier, delivered the third annual discourse; in his often-cited “philologer” passage, he noted similarities between Sanskrit, Ancient Greek and Latin—an event which is often cited as the beginning of comparative linguistics, Indo-European studies, and Sanskrit philology.
Like the other Dravidian languages, but unlike most of the other established literary languages of India, the origins of Tamil are independent of Sanskrit. Tamil has the longest unbroken literary tradition amongst the Dravidian languages. Tamil tradition dates the oldest works to several millennia ago, but the earliest examples of Tamil writing we have today are in inscriptions from the third century BC, which are written in an adapted form of the Brahmi script. Dating the earliest literary works themselves is difficult, in large part because they were preserved either in palm leaf manuscripts (implying repeated copying and recopying) or through oral transmission. Internal linguistic evidence, however, indicates that the oldest extant works were probably composed sometime between the second century BC and the third century AD. The earliest available text which describes the language of the classical period is the Tolkaappiyam (dating from around 200 BC).
Linguists categorise Tamil literature and language into three periods: ancient (200 BC to 700 AD), medieval (700 AD to 1500 AD) and modern (1500 AD to the present). During the medieval period, a number of Sanskrit loan words were absorbed by Tamil, which were sought to be removed by many purists during the 1900s, notably by Parithimaar kalaignar and Maraimalai adigal. This movement was called thanith thamizh iyakkam (meaning pure tamil movement). As a result of this, Tamil in formal documents, public speeches and scientific discourses is free of Sanskrit loan words largely. Around 800-1000 AD, Malayalam is believed to have evolved into a distinct language.
Classification
Tamil is a member of the Tamil languages group of languages that includes Irula, Kaikadi, Betta Kurumba, Sholaga, and Yerukula languages. This group is a subgroup of the Tamil-Malayalam languages, which falls under a subgroup of Tamil-Kodagu languages, which in turn is a subgroup of Tamil-Kannada-Telugu languages. The Tamil-Kannada-Telugu languages belong to the Southern branch of the Dravidian language family.
